This season's exhibition schedule
Harry Oakman and the World From Above
May 7 - June 6
Opening: Friday May 7, 7-9pm
During the early 1960's pilot and photographer Harry Oakman was commission by Brewer's retail to take arial photographs of the towns where beer stores were located. The Barry's Bay image still exists and is located at the Railway Station. This curated exhibition features a selection of Oakman's photography as well as a selection of contemporary artworks inspired by the idea of looking at the world from above.

Manipulation
Opening: Friday June 11, 7-9pm
Hans Aggarwal has created a series of mixed media work investigating what people buy and consume and the impact of this activity on the environment. Each piece contains materials that are far removed from their original use and perspective. Materials once destined for the landfill or the recycling box have been manipulated and contorted to create movement and vibrancy of colour that reflects our natural environment.
Hockey Stick Junkestra
July 9 - Aug 1
Opening: July 16, 7-9pm
Musician and artist, Mark Sepic will create a large, interactive music sculpture right in the gallery. The sculpture will be made out of recycled objects from our community, such as pots and pans, sinks and broken wooden hockey sticks, so save your sticks this winter and drop them off at the PJYCC to become part of the sculpture. This exhibition is part of an Ontario Arts Council grant awarded to South of 60 Arts Centre.

The Nesting Habit

Cara Bleskie and Catherine Toth will use recycled materials, objects from nature and photography to create an installation looking at the theme of travel and the railway.
This exhibtion will be located in the Upstairs Gallery.
