Music in the Park

A series of musical performances on Friday evenings throughout the summer
All performances begin at 6:30 and finish at 8pm with a short intermission
Seating is limited, so bring a chair
All performances are free, but donations are welcome

July 17

Ken Ramsden and Glen Caradus
Using a collection of instruments including the Celtic bodhran drum, guitar, penny whistle, violin, and harmonica, Ken and Glen will perform an arrangment of Celtic and Gaeilic music, as well as traditional sea shanties and lumber camp tunes.
 

July 24

Tanah Haney - Harpist
Karina Bates - Voice

Tanah and Karina will be performing an arrangemnent of Celtic, renaissance, and medieval music.
 

July 31

Shroeder Nordholt - Pianist
Schroeder will perform an assortment of classical, jazz/blues, and pop.
 

Aug 14
Sandra Allen - flautist
Jennifer Parker - bassoonist
Sandra and Jennifer (Musica Romantico) will be performing arrangments from renaissance, baroque, classical, and contemporary periods.
 

Aug 21
Mark Sepic - Guitarist
Mark Sepic will perform a free-form, cutting edge jazz concert improvising on the classical guitar.
 

Dance in the Park
 

August 21 ~ 4:30pm
Rock Scissors Paper
All dance project

4 people come,
Carrying their baggage,
Meet, converge, and separate.

What brought them together?
What will tear them apart?
Do they leave a trace?

This spectacular outdoor performance includes elements of dance, music, and aerial and movement sculpture installations.
The audience is to gather at the outdoor performance area at the Railway Station at 4:30pm.
In the event of inclement weather the performance will take place at the Opeongo Seniors Centre.

KY Hanewich - watercolourist
Barry's Bay artist K Y Hanewich will be demonstrating in watercolour and explaining the process of creating the painting.
 

Aug 14th 1 - 5pm

Kirk McEathron - wood sculptor
Using a chainsaw, power grinder, axe, chisel, and sandpaper, Whitney artist Kirk McEathron will be demonstrating the art of transforming a burl into an art scuplture.
 

Arts & Crafts Festival

at the Madawaska Valley Arts and Craft Festival!

Pottery, jewellery, weaving, wood-working, photography, soap, glass, painting, and more...

Valley folk sensation Glen Reid will be performing between 11-3.

 

Farmers' Market
 

Friday evenings
3-6pm at the Railway Station Park


Shop for fresh local produce, baking, meats, crafts, maple syrup and more.
The market runs, rain or shine from June to Thanksgiving (Oct)
